Getting cited by AI

What does Pressonify do?

Pressonify turns your announcement into a press release written to be quoted by AI assistants, publishes it on its own structured page the same day, and then checks whether Perplexity, Claude and Gemini use it when people ask about your company. When they do, you see the question, the engine, your position in the answer and what the AI said.

How often do Pressonify releases get cited by AI?

Most of them. As of September 2026, 64 of the 80 releases published on Pressonify have been cited by at least one AI engine, typically within about four days of going live. In our September 2026 tests on a customer release, Perplexity, Claude and Gemini all used it when asked about the company by name.

A citation here means an AI answer we checked used your release as a source. It is not a page view.

Which AI engines do you check, and when?
  • Perplexity: 24 hours, 48 hours and 7 days after publishing, with about 20 questions each time
  • Claude and Gemini: at 48 hours and 7 days
  • Follow-up checks: at 30, 60 and 90 days, to catch citations that arrive later
  • ChatGPT: added on every scan with Premium
What kind of questions will my release be cited for?

Above all, questions about your company: "who is [your company]", "[your company] news", "is [your company] legit". When a prospect, investor or journalist asks an AI assistant about you, the answer is built from the facts in your release, often with a link to it.

We also test two questions a new customer might ask without knowing your name, such as "24-hour boiler installation in the UK", and show you which sites those answers rely on today. A follow-up release that answers one of those questions directly, with your prices and service area, is the way into them.

How is a citation counted?

We ask AI assistants the questions a customer, investor or journalist might ask and record when the answer uses your release as a source. Each question counts once per engine, however many times the answer links the page. Your citation emails show it as "cited in X of Y answers we checked", per engine, with your best position.

Do AI citations bring visitors to my website?

The main value is what the answer says: people asking an AI assistant about you get your facts, your positioning and a link to your release. We also record visits that arrive from AI assistants, and your release links to your website.

Can you guarantee an AI citation?

No one can guarantee what an AI engine will cite. What we can do is publish your release in the format AI assistants quote, check the major engines on a fixed schedule and show you the evidence either way. Four in five releases published on Pressonify have been cited so far.

How is Pressonify different from a newswire?

A newswire sells reach: your release is copied to partner sites. Pressonify gives your release one fast, structured page built for AI answers, and then shows you which questions, engines and positions it earned. It costs €9.95 for your first release and €49.95 after that.

If your story also runs on a wire, the AI may cite either copy. Our reports list the other sources each answer used, so you can see which one it chose.

General

Who is Pressonify for?

Startups, small and medium businesses and agencies announcing launches, openings, funding, partnerships and milestones, especially companies AI assistants do not know much about yet. Agencies use it to publish for clients and show them the AI citations.

How quickly can I publish?

The AI drafts your release in about a minute. You review and edit it, confirm your company email, and it goes live the same day.

Can I try it first?

Yes. The live demo drafts a release from your own announcement for free, with its citability score and the structured data AI assistants read. Nothing is saved or published. Your first real release is €9.95.

Writing and accuracy

What style and tone controls are there?

Four lengths and styles (standard, concise, detailed and data-driven) and four tones (professional, friendly, urgent and casual), so 16 combinations. You can edit every word before publishing.

How do you keep the release accurate?

The AI is instructed to use only the facts in your announcement: no invented statistics, partnerships or awards, and none of 12 common buzzwords unless you used them. You review and can edit every word, and nothing goes live until you approve it. Check every figure and quote before publishing: what you approve is exactly what AI assistants will repeat.

What is a citability score?

A 0 to 100 score for how quotable your release is to AI assistants, with suggestions to raise it. It weighs information gain (specific, new facts) at 35%, structure at 25%, freshness at 15%, competitive context at 15% and authority at 10%. Releases with a price, a number and a place score highest.

Do you screen releases?

Yes. Every submission is screened for scam patterns (for example crypto promises, prize and phishing wording) and checked against its domain verification. Higher-risk releases go to manual review before publishing.

Company verification

Why do I need to verify my company email?

It confirms you can speak for the company. We send a code to your company email address; enter it and you can publish. It keeps the newsroom free of spam and makes every release attributable to a real business.

Can I use Gmail or another personal email?

No. We only accept company addresses (for example [email protected]). Free providers such as Gmail, Yahoo and Hotmail are not accepted.

I didn't receive the verification code. What now?
  • Check your spam or junk folder
  • Wait two or three minutes: some company mail servers delay outside email
  • Request a new code on the verification page
  • Still nothing? Open a support ticket

Your release page

What does each release page include?
  • Schema.org markup (NewsArticle, Organization and FAQ) so assistants know who said what, and when
  • A plain-text copy for AI crawlers
  • A listing in our AI discovery files (llms.txt and /ai-discovery.json)
  • Same-day notification to Bing and other IndexNow search engines (Bing's index feeds Copilot and ChatGPT search)
  • A sponsored link to your website, marked rel="sponsored" as Google requires
What is the five-layer optimization stack?

How each release is prepared for both search engines and AI assistants: SEO (titles, descriptions, sitemap, IndexNow), AEO (a direct-answer summary and an FAQ), GEO (Schema.org markup), LLMO (a plain-text copy) and ADP (listing in our 11 AI discovery endpoints). Every release gets all five.

What will I see in my dashboard?

Your releases, their page views, and every citation with the question, the AI engine, your position in the answer and the date. We also email you when a release is first cited.

How do I share my release?

Share the link directly or on LinkedIn, X and Facebook (the page carries social preview cards), link it from your website, and it appears in our RSS feed and newsroom.
